Saved places and your current location
A watch zone represents a place you choose, such as home or a family member's town. It remains the saved place when you travel. The map's current-location control centres the map on you; it serves a different purpose from saving a watch zone.
Location permission is used while the app is open. The saved zone and its label are stored with your installation. Address searches use the Queensland Government QldLocator service. The Privacy page explains location, saved places and data controls.
What an address match means
Hazards QLD matches the saved watch zone against warning locations and areas published by official sources. Some warning areas use approximate locality boundaries.
Road events and power outages appear on the map and in saved-place details. Push notifications cover official warnings; checking a place's details gives you additional context.
Manage notification settings
Open a saved place to review its hazard levels, radius and notification preferences. Manage notification permission in your device settings.
